Chemical Resistant Red Rubber O Rings
1. What are rubber o rings used for?
O rings are used to block a path which may otherwise allow a liquid or a gas to escape. The o ring is placed into a groove to secure them in place, and then compressed between two surfaces.
2. How is an O ring measured?
O-rings are measured in millimeters. Use a ruler or calipers to measure from one inner edge to another. To measure the outside diameter, use a ruler or calipers to measure from one outer corner of the O-ring to the other outer corner. Measure cross section. Place the O-ring into a vernier caliper.
3.We carry an extensive range of o-rings, in the most common materials:
Nitrile (Buna / NBR)
Fluoroelastomer (FPM / FKM / Fluorocarbon)
Silicone ( VMQ )
Fluorosilicone (FVMQ )
Chloroprene / Neoprene
Polyurethane ( PU)
Additionally, we can supply HNBR, Aflas, Butyl, and many others – most in a range of colours and Shore Hardnesses. We are able to offer fully moulded non-standard o-rings up to 800mm with a full range of cross-sections in many materials, hardnesses and colours – and high production runs to tight lead times. For static applications with non-standard sizes, we can also offer Scarf Jointed and Vulcanised rings as cost-effective alternatives to moulded rings.
